Where: Bangui, Central African Republic
What we are doing: Since December 2012, the Central African Republic has been engulfed in a severe crisis, resulting in thousands of deaths and millions of widows and orphans facing starvation and homelessness. Half of the population, around 2.5 million people, require humanitarian aid.
Association Bel Amour, founded in 2022, operates independently while upholding the principles of the Nimatullahi Sufi Order, with most members being Nimatullahi darvishes. The main activities carried out by Association Bel Amour include cleaning orphanages, distributing food kits monthly, and celebrating Christmas with war orphans.
Association Bel Amour is funded through direct contributions from members and donations. It aims to establish a lasting partnership with FDJN and SSC. Since 2022, it has also engaged in income-generating activities such as vegetable gardening and poultry. As a future project, it intends to explore the possibility of producing verbena essential oil in collaboration with the University of Bangui.
